Drinking Water Pollution - How to Purify Polluted Tap Water
Drinking water pollution is a huge problem all over the world. You may think that drinking water pollution is only an issue in under-developed countries, but in fact, it is a global problem.
North American water supplies are known to have at least 2,100 carcinogenic chemicals in them. The rest of the 80,000 chemicals may or may not cause cancer, but I'm pretty confident that they aren't good for you.
For decades we have been dumping everything imaginable into the oceans, lakes, rivers and streams. We've been burying and dumping garbage, oil, gas, old cars, chemicals and all sorts of contaminants into the ground. All of these pollutants end up in our drinking water. Just about every material that is made of synthetic materials results in chemicals ending up in our water supply.
70% of the planet is water and it is our most precious resource, yet we have almost completely destroyed it. Governments have created Drinking Water Pollution Control Acts that are designed to regulate and control toxins in our water. Unfortunately, most large companies that are the biggest culprits simply ignore the policies, pay the fines occasionally, and keep on polluting.
Given that we've effectively destroyed our water sources, what can we do now? Well, we can't reverse what we've done, but we can work towards preventing any further damage. And right now, we need to take action to protect ourselves from the deadly toxins.
A multi-layered water filtration system is the most effective protection. The filtration system should include a charcoal layer, a sub-micron filter, ion exchange and a multi media blocker. These filtration systems are certified to remove 99% of the contaminants in the water.
These filtration systems are available in under counter models, tap mounted models and whole home systems. Naturally, the whole house system is the best protection, but the tap and under sink models are effective for cleaning your drinking and cooking water at least.
